9 Dec 2007 - Frazer's Hill

Every year my dad will take us out for a family trip. This time my dad want something peaceful and ‘cool’ . End up he planned to go Frazer’s Hill. First first it was so excited and fun. The first few hours of our journey, we play a fool in car, chit chatting.....till we reach the foot of Frazer’s Hill..........

Took in car while reach the foot of Frazer

The next thing I found myself lying deadly in car, holding a plastic bag . The road towards top of the hill was damned steep, small and broken. It took us 2 hours of suffering to reach our destination , in the end all of us start vomiting. I told myself that this will be my 1st and also last time to visit Frazer – that was before I saw the magnificent scenery of Frazer’s Hill and feel the extraordinary fresh air.

pine tree......

took while walking to the town

Although many friends did tell me about how boring to go to Frazer’s Hill, for me I like that place. For nature lovers or jungle trekkers, they would definitely love it!!! Yes , I do agree that Frazer’s Hill’s town is very too small , but this place is a heaven of jungle trekking and sight seeing. There’s a variety of trekking trail, from the shortest to the longest ,from the most challenging to the lesser one.

Do you still remember last few years ago there’s a few Singaporean kids get lost while jungle trekking in Frazer’s Hill ? Yes, that was the Bishop’s trail.

As we went there wrong timing , the raining season, the air was moist and weather was so damned cold – 19 Celsius . The midst was too thick ,we can’t go for any trekking , so we just take our time tour around. Of course there’r a few interesting places that tourists must visit.

Allan’s water – where tourists can ‘row-a-boat’ , enjoying the view of the Allan’s lake . If you ‘r interested to buy some flowers home , beside Allan’s water there’s a place where they sell flowers-in-pot , the prices are reasonable- but my mum said they 'r cheap.......

Paddock - where tourists can have their horse riding, archery game and wood ball game. The price are reasonable too.

My sibling and cousin at the paddock

Ye Olde Smoke House- i recalled there's also a smoke house in Cameron Highlands. Frazer's smoke house is actually a restaurant ,located at hill side, so you can see magnificient view from there.

Frazer’s town – there’r a few shop lots, restaurants, souvenir shops, a small clinic, a police station and post office. Located in the centre of the town is the famous Frazer’s Hill clock tower - just for you to take some photos as memory.

That's the clock tower

Flowers in Frazer are blooming extra freshly compare to flowers in the city...POLLUTED.....

nice right?!!

restaurants and shop lots

If you plan to do golfing , there’s a big golf course beside the town.

I guess Frazer’s Hill is meant for someone who want to rest ,doing some sight seeing or jungle trekking. But some advice……do not went there during monsoon season if you want to go for jungle trekking. The thing I regret the most during this trip is that I ‘ve missed my jungle trekking. AND…….please fill your fuel tank , there’s no petrol station up there…..by the way, bring some Maggie Mee and some food- the food up there are quite expensive.

24-27/11/07 - Kuala Selangor

To made my 2 months boring holidays more happening, I ‘ve joined my previous church’s retreat trip to Kuala Selangor , which cost RM100 of my salary . We took off in the noon by cars and van. It took only 2 hours from Nilai to reach Kuala Selangor. Almost 60 of us stayed in rented apartments near Patai Indah . The apartment is well managed and clean . There’s mini gym, swimming pool and also a canteen. Besides, there’s 3 rooms, 2 restrooms , kitchen an a huge living room in each apartment . It is suitable for camp or family trip. We could easily enjoy the magnificient beach view from the apartments balcony . Although the beach is just located behind the apartments , it took a 10 minutes walk to reach there.

Took this pictures from the apartment’s balcony

To my amazed, unlike other beaches so far I’ ve been to, this beach is like a seashell’s graveyard .

I wonder should I called it a beach or a sea shell graveyard ?

I guess Kuala Selangor is famous with it’s seafood. As I walked along the beaches I saw people selling ‘tiram’ , variety of it .Some residents told me they sell ‘tiram’ for living.Every morning they would go to the sea to search for ‘tiram’ and oyster . It remind me of the novel ‘ The Pearl’ . Haha……

The seller told me the names of all kinda tiram but……I can just remember 1.....

Tiram KUPANG !!!! I don’t dare to eat actually…….u can get fresh oyster here too!

Pasar Malam .....foooooood !!!

He stared at me as if I want to steal his ‘unkown’ tiram

Of course I managed to have some other food made by sea food from the pasar malam
Heard before?…..otot-otot and sata (I don’t know how to spell ler….)

Yum....yum.....

You can even enjoy your food while enjoying Kuala Selangor’s sunset......dessert!

Of course can’t miss the chance to eat……CRAB too……kari fried crab

The crab are damned ‘fat’ and ‘juicy’……

Our pastor brought us to one of the famous hill- Bkt Malawati . Although its not a really high hill , we can see the whole Kuala Selangor – of course very nice view !!!
There’s a lot of friendly monkey too……we managed to grab pics with those famous ‘stars’. Some even posed for us to take pics.

The main purpose we went to Kuala Selangor is to visit the firefly park. From the mainland, we took a small and ‘soundless’ speed boat to tour around the river banks to see bunch of ‘christmas trees’ – its actually fireflies on the trees. Its magnificient ! This was the first time I saw such ‘thing’ . I start to ponder about God’s magnificient creation……

If u'r lucky u might get some fireflies surrounding u.....

Kuala Selangor town is quite a small one. Peaceful and quiet …..u ll like it if u’r peace lover…
The trip was so worthy ........ speechless !!!

2nd Nov 2007

Today I’ve attend a half day workshop- Advertising Unplugged organized by 95% The Advertising Academy.
It’s actually an advertising workshop where 180 students from colleges and universities all over KL come together and learn . We were separated into a few groups and were given a product for us to create our advertisement. Organizer has arranged 6 Malaysia’s top Creative Directors such as Mr.Ronad Ng from BBDO and Mr. Jeff Orr from Grey Worlwide ,to guide us in group .We were asked to imagined ourselves working under these Creative Directors .Our work were judged and the winner group will be joining the grand finalist at Kancil Advertisement Award Night. I guess most of the students there aimed to be the winner group, so that you will become the outstanding one or might grab attention from the Directors for your future job. But for me……at first I thought it‘ll be some sort of advertisement forum instead of all this. Oh shit, I’m so dead! Basically I know nothing about ads,I’m just a first semester student! These were all my first thought when I knew the whole thing. Most of the students were either much more senior than me or were majoring in this field. It’s a little tension working with them at first, luckily I managed to. I had a wonderful time of fun learning.I guess it worth RM 85 for this workshop .They will be having Advertising Unplugged every year. For those who are interested to challenge yourself in advertising get more info on www.kancilawards.com .
